A long-running underground anthology from Dugent Publishing, Cavalier Magazine (1966–present) served as a vital showcase for the counterculture's most audacious cartoonists. Spanning 24 issues, the series is most indelibly associated with the raw, satirical work of Robert Crumb and the visionary sci-fi and fantasy art of Vaughn Bodé, who were its most frequent contributors. More than just a magazine, it was a key platform that helped define the look and irreverent voice of the underground comix movement during its formative years.
