About the series

Marvel’s Cartoon Comedy was a short-lived five-issue series from 1947 to 1949, a lighthearted humor anthology most closely associated with the early work of legendary cartoonist Harvey Kurtzman. Before his groundbreaking work at EC Comics, Kurtzman contributed his energetic, gag-driven style to this title, which offered a mix of single-page jokes and short comic strips. Though brief, the series stands as an early showcase of Kurtzman’s comedic voice and a snapshot of Marvel’s post-war foray into pure comedy.
