About the series
In 1948, Captain America returned to newsstands under the Superior imprint, trading his wartime exploits for a new set of adventures in a 10-issue run. This post-war era saw Steve Rogers fighting crime alongside Elizabeth Ross as the newly introduced Golden Girl, a key partner in his patriotic crusade. The series featured art by Charles Nicholas, Al Gabriele, and Al Avison, continuing the character’s pulp-hero legacy as the Golden Age wound down. It’s a lesser-known but essential chapter in Captain America’s history, bridging his wartime roots with the dawn of the Silver Age.
