Bullwinkle

From 1962 to 1979, Western Publishing brought the beloved cartoon moose and his friends to comic shops and newsstands in a 21-issue series starring the dim-witted, noble Bullwinkle. Anchored by writer and artist Al Kilgore—who also drew the daily comic strip—the book featured art from Al Milgrom and Ben De Nunez, capturing the gentle slapstick and pun-filled adventures of the Frostbite Falls gang. A charming, long-running tie-in that extended the animated show's life on the page, it remains a fondly remembered piece of mid-century funny-animal comics.
