Blueberry

In 1983 and 1984, French publisher Rombaldi collected the classic Western saga Blueberry into a six-issue series, re-presenting the adventures of the hard-drinking, morally complex U.S. Cavalry lieutenant Mike Blueberry. This series is most associated with writer Jean-Michel Charlier and artist Jean Giraud (Moebius), whose detailed, cinematic artwork and gritty storytelling redefined the European Western. It matters as a landmark of the bande dessinée tradition, blending historical authenticity with a revisionist, psychological depth that influenced generations of comic creators.
