About the series
A landmark of European comics, Blueberry follows the misadventures of a rugged, anti-heroic U.S. Cavalry lieutenant in the post-Civil War West. Created by the legendary team of writer Jean-Michel Charlier and artist Jean Giraud (Mœbius), the series debuted in 1980 with Éditions Fleurus, though its roots stretch back to earlier magazine serials. Giraud’s luminous, detailed artwork and Charlier’s gritty, morally complex storytelling redefined the Western genre for comics, influencing generations of artists. This single-issue volume captures the series’ enduring power as a cornerstone of Franco-Belgian bande dessinée.
