Blue, Barry & Pancakes

In 2021, First Second launched Blue, Barry & Pancakes, a graphic novel series for young readers that follows the slapstick adventures of a blue jay, a rabbit, and a frog. Created by Dan & Jason, the series blends vibrant, cartoonish art with playful, high-energy storytelling that captures the chaos of friendship. With only one issue published so far, it establishes a promising, laugh-out-loud tone reminiscent of classic buddy comedies.
