About the series
In the early 2000s, Glénat brought Tite Kubo's Bleach to French readers, serializing the epic supernatural saga across 74 issues. The series follows Ichigo Kurosaki, a teenager who gains the powers of a Soul Reaper, tasked with defending the living world from malevolent spirits known as Hollows. Blending stylish action, intricate afterlife mythology, and a massive cast of allies and rivals, Bleach became a cornerstone of the manga boom in France, introducing a generation to Kubo's distinctive character design and high-stakes battles. Its long run allowed for deep world-building across the Soul Society, Hueco Mundo, and beyond, cementing its place as a defining shonen series of its era.
