Frederik Peeters' autobiographical graphic novel Blauwe pillen (2010–present, Sherpa) recounts his real-life relationship with a woman who is HIV-positive. Written by Arend Jan van Oudheusden and Peeters, with art by Peeters, this intimate, award-nominated work explores love, intimacy, and the realities of living with the virus.
