Black Alligator

A bold, genre-blending debut from Les éditions Tartamudo, Black Alligator (2021–present) reimagines the classic pulp hero as a Black man navigating a surreal, neon-lit underworld. The series' first issue establishes a gritty, noir-infused mystery with supernatural undertones, anchored by its distinctive visual style and its creator’s sharp, modern take on urban legend. Though only one issue in, it has already made an impact for its fresh, culturally resonant reclamation of a familiar archetype.
