Set in a military hospital during the American Civil War, Blåjakkene (2020–present) follows the misadventures of two Union soldiers, the bumbling Corporal Blutch and the stout Sergeant Chesterfield. Published by Hjemmet/Egmont, this Swedish-language edition adapts the classic Franco-Belgian series, with the most frequent creative team of writers Béka, Raoul Cauvin, and Olivia Tångring alongside artists Willy Lambil and José-Luis Munuera. A lighthearted, slapstick take on war, the series matters for bringing one of Europe’s longest-running humorous comics to a new audience.
