Bitterkomix

South African anthology series Bitterkomix, published by L'Association, launched in 2009 as a single-issue collection of satirical, politically charged comics. The series is most associated with co-creators Anton Kannemeyer and Conrad Botes, whose provocative work skewers apartheid's legacy and contemporary Afrikaner culture. Its significance lies in bringing a distinctly South African, transgressive voice to the European bande dessinée scene, challenging both local taboos and international expectations.
