Birdland

Gilbert Hernandez's Birdland (1992–present, Sherpa) is a singular, surreal exercise in erotic comics, a single issue that stands as a cult artifact from the post-Love & Rockets era. Hernandez writes and draws the entire story, a fever dream of sexual politics, body horror, and deadpan absurdity set in a nightmarish domestic landscape.
