Bijou Funnies

A landmark of the underground comix movement, Bijou Funnies ran for seven issues from 1972 to 1973 under Kitchen Sink Press. Primarily helmed by the irreverent talents of Jay Lynch, R. Crumb, and Skip Williamson, the series served as a showcase for the era's raw, countercultural satire and psychedelic storytelling. Its pages introduced recurring oddballs like the hapless Nard, the rebellious Pat, and the absurd Snappy Sammy Smoot, cementing the book as a vital, scrappy document of the early '70s comix scene.
