Beowulf

From 2023 to 2024, Comicsburgh published a six-issue Beowulf series that reimagines the Old English epic through a modern, character-driven lens. Written by Grant Lankard with art by António Brandão and Elena Ominetti, the series grounds its mythic monster-slaying in a grim, atmospheric world, exploring the human cost of heroism and legacy. A compact, self-contained take on a classic tale, it stands out for its moody visuals and tight focus on Beowulf's internal struggle as much as his battles.
