Ediperiodici · 1967–1969 · 40 issues
About the series
In the late 1960s, Italian publisher Ediperiodici launched Belfagor, a 40-issue series that blended horror, fantasy, and adventure through its titular demonic protagonist. The strip, most closely associated with writer and artist Giorgio Pezzin, stood out for its gothic atmosphere and morally ambiguous storytelling, reflecting the era's growing appetite for darker, more mature comics. Though a cult work in Italian fumetti, Belfagor remains a notable example of the publisher's bold, genre-pushing output during a fertile period for European horror comics.
