Beasts of Heaven

In the mid-2010s, Samuel Locke Ward wrote, drew, and lettered all twelve issues of Beasts of Heaven, a self-contained comic series from an independent press. A singular vision of raw, expressive art and storytelling, the series explores a mythic, post-apocalyptic landscape where humanity struggles against monstrous forces and its own fractured nature. Ward’s uncompromising, hand-drawn style gives the world a visceral, dreamlike quality, making it a distinctive and uncompromising work of creator-owned comics.
