Battle Chasers

Joe Madureira’s exuberant, manga-infused art defined this short-lived but visually electrifying fantasy series, published by Juniorpress from 1999 to 2001. Co-written with Peter de Bruin and Munier Sharrieff, the five-issue run introduced a band of misfit heroes in a richly detailed, high-adventure world. Though brief, Battle Chasers remains a cult touchstone for its fusion of Western comic energy with Eastern comic style, showcasing Madureira’s dynamic storytelling at its peak.
