Battle Chasers

Joe Madureira's Battle Chasers, published by Semic S.A. between 1999 and 2002, is a six-issue fantasy epic defined by the artist's signature, hyper-detailed anime-inspired style. The series follows a young girl searching for her missing father, a legendary warrior, in a world of magic, steampunk technology, and monstrous creatures. Though short-lived, its lush, kinetic artwork and cliffhanger-driven narrative made it a cult sensation, showcasing Madureira's post-X-Men creative freedom.
