From 1969 to 1977, Editora Brasil-América (EBAL) brought Brazilian readers 89 issues of Batman, a direct translation of the American series that showcased the dark, dynamic work of writer Denny O'Neil and artist Neal Adams. This run captured the Caped Crusader in his gritty, detective-focused prime, with frequent contributions from writers Bob Rozakis and Jerry Coleman, and artists Irv Novick and John Calnan.
