In the post-war years, Barna på sydhavsøya brought a sun-drenched island adventure to Norwegian comics, running for four issues between 1946 and 1951 under Hjemmet (later Egmont). The series was most frequently illustrated by Svend Otto Sørensen, whose warm, detailed art helped define its enduring charm. Though brief, it stands as a notable early example of Norwegian comic publishing, capturing a sense of escapist innocence in a time of rebuilding.
