About the series
In the mid-1990s, DC Comics introduced a new protector of the city of Vanity with Aztek: The Ultimate Man, a ten-issue series written primarily by Grant Morrison and Mark Millar. The story follows the armored hero, whose powers and identity are tied to a mysterious helmet and a secret society known as the Q-Foundation, as he battles both street-level crime and cosmic threats alongside his ally Uno. Illustrated by N. Steven Harris, the series is notable for its inventive world-building and for weaving a complex mythology that later connected to Morrison's larger JLA run. A cult favorite, Aztek remains a concise, ambitious exploration of heroism and hidden conspiracies.
