In the late 1980s, the Serbian publisher Dečje novine brought the legendary Western hero Lieutenant Blueberry to Yugoslav readers with Avanture poručnika Bluberija, a six-issue series reprinting classic adventures from the original French series. These comics captured the gritty, sprawling world of the American frontier through the eyes of the iconic blue-eyed lawman, showcasing the work of creator Jean-Michel Charlier and artist Jean Giraud (Moebius). Though a short run, it stands as a notable entry point for Eastern European audiences into one of Europe's most celebrated Western comics.
