About the series
In the mid-2000s, Speakeasy Comics launched Atomika, a four-issue series written by Andrew Dabb and Sal Abbinanti, with Abbinanti also providing the art. The series imagines a world where the Soviet Union never fell and the Cold War rages on, now fought with a terrifying new weapon: a god-like, nuclear-powered super-soldier named Atomika. A bold, stylized fusion of superhero action and alternate-history political commentary, the book stands out for its grim, metallic aesthetic and its exploration of power and ideology in a perpetual Soviet state.
