Arsat

In the early 2000s, Bastei Verlag launched Arsat, a 12-issue comic series that blended sci-fi and fantasy with a distinctly European flair. Written primarily by Peter Mennigen and Hajo F. Breuer, with art by Jesús Peña and Alberto Solé Sanz, the series followed the adventures of its titular hero across a richly imagined alien world. Though short-lived, Arsat stands as a notable example of German genre comics from the era, showcasing the publisher's ambition to create original, serialized space opera.
