Aquablue

In 1989, Dark Horse brought the French sci-fi epic Aquablue to American readers, a saga of a young orphan raised by pirates on a water world. Written by Jean-Marc Lofficier, Randy Lofficier, and Thierry Cailleteau, with vivid art by Olivier Vatine, the series explores humanity's clash with an alien ecosystem and corporate greed. Though only one issue reached US shelves, it remains a standout example of European comics' ambitious world-building and ecological themes.
