Angel

From 2000 to 2001, Carlsen Comics brought Joss Whedon's vampire-with-a-soul to German-speaking readers in a nine-issue series simply titled Angel. Written primarily by Christopher Golden and Marc Hillefeld, with Eric Powell providing the consistently moody artwork, this run adapts and expands upon the character's solo adventures in Los Angeles. It stands out as a key early example of licensed comics faithfully extending a television series' mythology for an international audience.
