American Flagg!

Howard Chaykin's satirical near-future masterpiece, American Flagg!, was brought to Brazilian readers in a six-issue run by Editora Abril from 1990 to 1991. The series follows a former television star turned lawman in a hyper-commercialized, chaotic America, blending Chaykin's trademark cynical wit with his dynamic, densely detailed artwork. This edition made one of the most influential and visually distinctive independent comics of the 1980s available to a Portuguese-speaking audience, capturing the series' prescient critique of media, consumerism, and political decay.
