From 1960 to 1963, the Norwegian publisher Illustrerte Klassikere / Williams Forlag released 34 issues of Alt i bilder ("Everything in Pictures"), a comic series that adapted classic literature and historical tales into a painted, fully illustrated format. Primarily associated with the painterly work of Gerald McCann and other uncredited artists, the series stood out for its ambitious, cinematic visual storytelling within the European "illustrated classic" tradition. It offered readers a vivid, accessible gateway to literary and historical narratives, making it a distinctive artifact of early 1960s Scandinavian comics publishing.
