Alois Nebel

In 2014, Presque Lune published the collected edition of Alois Nebel, a moody, black-and-white graphic novel trilogy by Czech writer Jaroslav Rudiš and artist Jaromír 99. Set in the late 1980s and early 1990s, the story follows a solitary railway dispatcher haunted by the ghosts of Central Europe's troubled past. Its stark, woodcut-style art and quiet, atmospheric storytelling earned it a reputation as a landmark of modern European comics.
