Almanaque O Mosquito

In the early 1980s, the Portuguese publisher Carlos & Reis, Lda. launched Almanaque O Mosquito, a four-issue comic series that collected adventure and thriller stories from some of Spain's most celebrated illustrators. The series is most closely associated with the legendary Jesús Blasco, who both wrote and drew for the title, alongside the atmospheric artwork of Emilio Freixas. It served as a showcase for classic European comic serials, bringing them to a new Portuguese readership.
