About the series
From 1964 to 1979, Editora Brasil-América (EBAL) published Almanaque de Batman, a thirteen-issue Brazilian anthology series that collected and translated classic Batman adventures from the Golden and Silver Ages. The series drew heavily on the foundational work of writer Bill Finger and artists Bob Kane and Dick Sprang, while also featuring the local contributions of Brazilian artist Monteiro Filho. As one of the earliest sustained Brazilian collections of Batman stories, it introduced generations of Portuguese-speaking readers to the Dark Knight's defining early exploits.
