Almanach de L'Épatant

A long-running French annual from the Société Parisienne d’Édition, Almanach de L’Épatant (1910–1942) served as a yearly companion to the weekly humor magazine L’Épatant. Across 33 issues, it collected comic strips, illustrated stories, and satirical features from the Belle Époque through the early years of World War II. Though the series is most closely associated with the house style of SPE’s stable of cartoonists, its enduring value lies in documenting the evolution of French popular comics and humor across three decades of social and political change.
