About the series
From 1943 to 1946, Marvel published the anthology series All Surprise Comics, a twelve-issue wartime and postwar title that packed a variety of genres into each issue—superhero, humor, and adventure. Writer Bill Woolfolk was the most frequent contributor across the run, shaping the series' eclectic mix of features. Though not a flagship title, it offers a snapshot of Marvel's transitional period as the Golden Age superhero boom gave way to new storytelling directions.
