Akira

Akira (2017–2019) is a Brazilian edition of Katsuhiro Otomo’s landmark cyberpunk epic, published by Editora JBC. This six-issue run collects the complete, sprawling saga of Kaneda and Tetsuo in a post-apocalyptic Neo-Tokyo, presented in the original right-to-left reading format. As a faithful translation of the manga that defined a genre, this series introduced a new generation of Portuguese-language readers to Otomo’s masterwork of psychic powers, political conspiracy, and societal collapse.
