About the series
In the early 1950s, Italian publisher Tomasina launched Akim il figlio della jungla, a 99-issue comic series that carved its own path in the jungle-adventure genre. Scripted primarily by Roberto Renzi and illustrated by Augusto Pedrazza, the series followed the wild exploits of its titular hero, blending action and exotic locales for a postwar audience hungry for escapism.
