About the series
In the early 1950s, the German publisher Lehning launched Akim der Sohn des Dschungels, a jungle adventure series that ran for 78 issues. The title character, a Tarzan-like hero, was brought to life primarily by the prolific Italian artist Augusto Pedrazza, whose dynamic illustrations defined the look of the series. This short-lived but fondly remembered comic stands as a notable example of the European adventure genre in the post-war era.
