About the series
Aimed squarely at younger readers, Adventures in the DC Universe (1997–1998, DC) served as a 19-issue comic-book companion to the then-popular Superman: The Animated Series and Batman: The Animated Series cartoons. Writers Steve Vance and artists John Delaney and Steve Vance brought the streamlined, kid-friendly look and feel of those shows to the printed page, crafting original stories that featured a wide array of DC heroes in a shared, animated-style world. It was a key title for DC during a period when they were actively expanding their all-ages line, making the company's classic characters accessible to a new generation of readers.
