Acme Comics

From 1982 to 1994, Fandom House published Acme Comics, a ten-issue series that served as a quirky, anthology-style showcase for the offbeat humor and surreal storytelling of writer Scott Johnson. With a rotating artistic team led by John McColloch, Richard Arnold, and Richard Florence, the series blended madcap satire with a distinctly indie sensibility, carving out a small but fondly remembered niche in the pre-direct market era. Though brief, its run captured the playful, experimental spirit of early-’80s alternative comics.
