About the series
From 2006 to 2013, Teshkeel Comics published The 99, a groundbreaking superhero series rooted in Islamic culture and history. Created by writer and co-creator Dr. Naif Al-Mutawa, the series follows a team of young heroes who gain extraordinary powers from ancient stones infused with the 99 attributes of God. Published in both Arabic and English, the series earned acclaim for its positive, cross-cultural storytelling and was even recognized by a U.S. State Department award for its role in promoting cultural understanding through comics.
