In a gritty 1947 tale from Zoot Comics #8, former Marine Eddie Burns faces ruin after embezzling from a bank, leading him to the edge. His old boxing buddy One Round Hogan intervenes, stepping in just as Eddie prepares to end it all. When a pair of hold-up men attack, Hogan and Eddie fight side by side, sparking an idea in Hogan’s manager, Spigot Barnett.
