When a pair of hold-up men attack, Hogan and Eddie fight side by side, sparking an idea in Hogan’s manager, Spigot Barnett. Spigot hatches a plan to revive Eddie’s fortunes by setting up a staged spar where Eddie knocks out Hogan—though the outcome leaves Hogan with a quiet, proud smile, muttering, “That sock was on the level!”
