Peter Wheat and his companion Beetle receive an urgent summons from Sammy Sweet, only to discover that a magical flying fish has carried them on an unexpected journey. Forced to land the fish near Sammy's bakery, they encounter owl-eyed goblins in an underground tunnel who pursue them relentlessly. After a harrowing escape through the goblin's lair, Peter and Beetle barely make it back to their mount and flee toward safety, with Peter devising a plan to lead the goblins away from Sammy before returning to help their friend.
