Peter Wheat and his companion Beetle investigate a distant campfire and discover an army of wheat weevils marching toward the wheat kingdom's fields. Peter devises a plan to slow the weevils by spreading molasses in their path, but the insects become trapped and begin circling the Wheat Kingdom. Peter then appeals directly to the weevil leader, convincing them to call off their invasion by offering the bakers of the kingdom to share their cookies, cakes, and pies as a peace offering, which the weevils accept.
