While Peter Wheat enjoys a morning cantering on his mouse mount through the Wheat Kingdom, an unseen force transforms the village folk into rigid statues, alarming the villagers who send a beetle to search for Peter. With the aid of his friend Blue Jay and Beetle, Peter discovers that the evil Raven Witch has kidnapped the folk and turned them to stone, threatening to make a statue of Peter himself to rule the mountain-top kingdom. Peter must recover a red rose—an essential component for the witch's magic powder—and use it to restore his transformed friends and defeat the Raven Witch's plan.
