In this 1950 freebie from Peter Wheat Bread and Bakers Associates, Walt Kelly delivers a delightfully zany chapter of *The Adventures of Peter Wheat* as Grand Wizard’s hornet knights escape from hidden boxes and swarm the bakery. With Dragonel and Beetle putting up a valiant fight, Sammy Sweet and the bakers rally with a sticky-sweet counterattack using syrup—saving the day, at least for now. The story, written and illustrated by Walt Kelly, features his signature whimsy and energetic art, with a cover by Kelly that captures the chaos in bold, playful detail.
