In this 1949 classic, Beetle and Baby Mouse venture into the dungeon to check on the imprisoned Wizard—only to find him cunningly disguised as Beetle himself. The impostor tries to trick a Giant into attacking the Wheat Field, but his plan unravels in a twist of mistaken identity. The Giant, now on the side of the Wheat Field folk, joins them for a festive Thanksgiving dinner. Written, drawn, and inked by Walt Kelly, this free 60-cent comic (in 1949) is a delight of whimsy and clever plotting.
