Jack Tar and his young friends search for buried treasure on a map, encountering a bearded old man in a cave who warns them of the dangers within, including goblins, sea serpents, wolves, bats, rats, and snakes, but the children resolve to continue their adventure. The issue also includes a puzzle page where readers must help match stray animals to their proper homes and guide a fish through a maze to Jack's fishing hook, followed by an instructional page teaching various nautical knots used by sailors, including the fisherman's knot, reef knot, and half hitches.
