# Spy Fighters #9 (July 1950) The main story, "Doom Patrol," stars spy fighter Clark Mason, who is sent with a squad into enemy territory to expose a trap. Lieutenant Mayfield, ambitious and eager for promotion, discovers that his girlfriend Georgia Smith is a musical comedy star performing for troops, but he becomes jealous when she spends time with Colonel Maakeson. After Buzzie Barron, a war correspondent, photographs Mason and Mayfield together and the images are published, Mayfield's wife demands a divorce, blaming Mason for keeping her husband away. Mason ultimately helps clear up the misunderstanding and reconciles Mayfield with his wife.
