"The Adventures of Peter Wheat" follows Peter Wheat, the Wheat Queen, and Beetle as they journey to the Cherry Orchard to meet Sammy Sweet and his bakers for a fruit harvest. Peter and his companions use mice to haul the ripe cherries, filling a wagon with the picked fruit. When night falls, they leave the cherries stored on the ground to resume work in the morning, but birds including a Colbird, Robin, Blue Jay, and Cardinal discover the abandoned fruit and gather to feast on it.
