Monte Hale Western #84 (1955)

Monte Hale discovers a gold strike in the hills and registers a claim at a trading post with another prospector named Cracker-Barrel. When Monte leaves to work the claim, Cracker-Barrel and two other men plot to steal the strike by registering it under their own names and forcing Monte out. Monte returns to find the trestle that crosses the valley has been deliberately damaged by the ranchers, causing him and the men to fall. Monte rescues the trapped men using a lariat, and they discover that the ranchers intentionally sabotaged the trestle to ruin the gold operation, ending the scheme against him.
